I highly recommend Academy Automotive for their friendly, fast, and expert service! Most of all, I greatly value their honesty! I brought my car in for a few issues I was concerned about. After they took my car on a test drive and then inspected it, Gus insured me that everything is safe and it's running as it should. He didn't feel right about charging me since they didn't find anything, even though I agreed upfront to the inspection cost. Now I can continue my occasional long drives for work projects with great peace of mind! Huge thank you to Gus and his crew!

Gus and his team at Academy Automotive are fantastic! I had a brake failure on one of my vehicles and despite being a new client, they got my car in the same day! After a major repair they had me back on the road that same week. I took my car back a few weeks later for general fluid services (transmission, transfer, differential, and engine oil) and everything went great. Communication is top notch and they stand behind their work! I’ve definitely found my mechanic!

Five stars is not remotely sufficient to give Academy Automotive (805) and they're outstanding service. We discovered Academy Automotive through Google reviews and those Google reviews did not lead us astray. This repair shop has earned every single one of those five star reviews. When our car unexpectedly broke down, I looked on Google for a nearby service center that could deal with possible catalytic converter issues and Academy Automotive came up. Based on all of their five-star reviews, I decided to take a chance. What was so great about Academy Automotive was that you could drop your car off after hours and leave a key in a drop box and then they would touch base with you the next day. This was our exact experience. Gus and company were very understanding to our situation and even though our repair was going to be extremely expensive, we were treated very fairly the entire time. Gus even goes as far as to show you the parts that he's replaced so that you know and can see that they needed to be replaced. Our car was so problematic that we have visited Gus four times over the past month and each time we have been treated fairly and with outstanding customer service. Not once have I ever felt like the moron bringing their car into the mechanic. Gus takes his time to explain what's wrong with your vehicle and you feel very reassured that your vehicle is good hands. We actually live in Ventura and from now on will happily have our car towed to Academy Automotive in order for Gus to service it. That's how much we appreciate the professionalism, customer service and courtesy that Academy Automotive provided us. Highly, highly recommend you use this auto mechanic.

Gus and the crew knocked it out of the park again one of our 08 4Runners with a 1/4 million miles. They lucked out on the dirty job of replacing the knock sensors, one of which was bad so it wouldn't pass smog. If you know, you know everything comes off the top of the block to get to that ridiculously positioned sensor. They not only replaced the sensors, but cleaned up and repaired up rat-shredded wires and debris. Fast forward two days, smog is passed, and we're happy as ever! Thank You! Ken

I noticed a piece of plastic cover hanging from under my car and wasn’t sure how to remove/what to do with it. I pulled over to Academy Automotive after work and Gus was so helpful! He explained that it’s a common occurrence and non-damaging to the car to remove it. Within 10 min, he had my car pulled in, went under my car and cut off the hanging plastic cover. Gus is so respectable, honest and friendly, also providing speedy service! At the end of it, he was kind enough not to charge me for the service, but I’ll definitely be back as a paying client the next time my car needs work. Highly recommend Academy Automotive!
